Terms of purchase and use.
Who we are
CalmWaves ("we") sells assessment-based programs, CalmWaves Studio subscriptions, and the CalmBox through calmwaves.com. Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
By buying, you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy. CalmWaves Studio has its own terms, which you accept when you create your Studio account.
CalmWaves is operated by CalmWaves, LLC, 22517 North 44th Drive, Phoenix, Arizona. These terms are governed by the laws of Arizona. You must be 18 or older to place an order.
Programs
- What's included is what the product lists at checkout: The Baseline, The Reset, Owner Program, CalmBox Starter, or Private Starter.
- Timing. Your performance report and written read are delivered within 48 hours of completing your assessment. Programs with CalmWaves Studio include 30 days of access and a day-30 retest.
- Your part. Assessment results depend on taking the test under the conditions we send you. We can't promise a particular score or result.
- Owner Program is for people who already own a CalmBox. We confirm your purchase; if we can't, we refund you in full.
- Private Starter is limited to two people a month.
Day 1 of a 30-day program is the day your CalmBox is delivered. For programs without a CalmBox, it's the day you check out.
Subscriptions and automatic renewal
- Membership ($29/month) and coach plans renew automatically each month at the price shown at checkout, until you cancel.
- Cancel anytime from the "Manage subscription" link on calmwaves.com/store or in your receipt emails. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you've paid for, and you keep access until then.
- We'll email you before any price change takes effect.
Coach plans
- Coach plans start at $1 for the first 30 days for our first 20 coaches, and at $25 for the first 30 days after that. After 30 days, your plan renews monthly at the tier price: Solo $49 (1–5 athletes), Practice $99 (6–25), or Facility $199 (26 or more). Cancel before day 30 and you won't be charged the monthly price.
- If your roster grows past your tier, we'll ask you to move up. You can change tiers anytime from "Manage subscription."
- You're responsible for the athletes you add, including getting any consent needed to use CalmWaves Studio with them.
- Founding coaches keep their monthly rate when prices rise.
Shipping
We ship the CalmBox to US addresses only, within 3–5 business days of your prescription being written. Shipping is free and includes tracking by email.
Refunds
You have 30 days to ask for a full refund, counted from purchase, or from delivery if your program includes a CalmBox. A returned CalmBox must be in working condition.
You pay return shipping on a returned CalmBox.
Disclosures
- CalmWaves programs measure cognitive performance and build a plan around it. They are not medical care, and they don't replace care from a licensed clinician.
- The CalmBox is a cranial electrotherapy stimulation (CES) device, sold by prescription. Before a CalmBox ships, or before one you already own is built into your plan, you complete a short form and Dr. Doug Cowan reviews it. If it isn't approved, we refund the order in full.
